| | | | | KB Tour Iron Shafts by FST | | | | | Description : | The new KB TOUR! The brainchild of Kim Braley (designer of the Project X) and Larry Bodle - former executive of True Temper and founder of UST. The best designers in the business combined to create the shaft of the future! Read about it below.
Skilled golfers have developed the ability to position their hands correctly for optimum speed at impact. At this critical point during the swing, shafts play an essential role in placing the head in the correct position. Therefore, shafts that respond most effectively to the player's hands, especially just prior to impact, will optimize the golfer's result.
Little progress has been made for several decades to address this important dynamic. FST's goal in the development of the KB Tour shaft was to use intelligent design to upgrade the performance of the historically accepted "better player" iron shafts.
FST's veteran shaft designer, Kim Braly used "moment of inertia analysis" to design the KB Tour shaft step by step from the grip to the club head in order to reduce shaft "interference" to otherwise well executed swings. Braly concluded that when both the mass and radius of each step is reduced in equal proportions along the center line of the shaft, the most stable and efficient energy transfer from the hands to the head can be achieved. The end result was the KB Tour iron shaft.
The KB Tour design incorporates good club fitting attributes and FST's high quality precision manufacturing processes, such as:
-Exclusive FST "oil-quench" tempering method produces shafts that are arrow-straight from butt to tip. Compare to any competitor's steel shafts in the industry!
-Shaft weight is constant for each club in the set for the inertia and balance the best players have preferred for decades.
-Tapered tip construction provides a solid metal to metal bond in the hosel and the tour-proven feel at impact.
-Center of gravity is designed slightly higher than traditional tapered tip shafts to allow more mass to be concentrated in the head where it belongs.
-Shaft weight and frequency are matched to the strictest tolerances ensuring peak playing performance and guarantee of repeatability when replaced.
